Hi, I'm Alex!
I'm currently a PhD candidate in political science at Washington University in St. Louis. I am also an American Academy of University Women 2026-2027 American Doctoral Fellow.
My research examines how violent conflict shapes women’s lives, with a particular focus on household dynamics & fertility decisions. My dissertation investigates how ethnic conflict transforms women’s fertility preferences and family decision-making, arguing that reproduction can become a political act tied to collective survival. Drawing on feminist IR theory, I use cross-national analysis, survey experiments, and qualitative interviews to understand how women navigate the social and political pressures created by conflict.

A Little About Me
Hello and welcome to my website!
I created this page to share my resources, writing, and a space for collaboration for fellow researchers. Here, you’ll find resources connected to my work, and updates on my ongoing projects.
In my free time I enjoy hanging out with my three cats: Cordelia, Louie, and Ollie. I also love watching horror films, reading fantasy books, and crocheting. During the fall and spring you can catch me watching football and basketball—Go Hogs!
